IVAN YEROFEEV

omsk / moscow

Melody is the essential basis of all music. In its perfect form, melody both implies and brings to life a harmonious, overarching design

Мелодия — это музыка, главная основа всей музыки, поскольку совершенная мелодия подразумевает и вызывает к жизни свое гармоническое оформление

Anton Chekhov (1860-1904)

Ivan Yerofeev was previously known as Aleph; he also used to live Omsk, in the Siberian homeland. His passage from the heartland to the capital was not straightforward: "My school teachers kept me playing the violin for nine years. Some of the staff members would try forcing me to study (in school as a whole)... but l, in tum, would try skipping all my classes, except the orchestra and violin lessons."

Yerofeev then admits that his online success and daring experimentation would never have begun without the charity or concern of family members and other nearby acquaintances. •”I am proud of my friends. Without them, I probably wouldn’t be the person I am today..."

Somewhere between institutional tedium and the kindly souls within those grey bodies, he found what he needed: "l wrote my first music in school. I spent nine years practicing the violin, and only then started playing rock. I got a handle on various instruments, including drums in a jazz outfit." And now we have countless wires, plus, and switches––a very long way from home.
